Moschin”O”

Moschin”O”

I just started adding blogs to the site to give more context—not only on me, but on the intricate details behind the things you’ll be seeing. In the era of AI (Artificial Inspiration) and microwaved content, it was only right to add something for those who prefer that home-cooked, non-GMO feel.

I rarely show or tell stories from my life and times for a few reasons, but we’ll get into the main two. First: omertà (look it up). I come from a time where we hardly took pictures, because a picture is worth a thousand words. But without getting into a thousand bars, I’ma just drop a 16 or two.

So this picture is from May 1998, Englewood, NJ—prom show-off. We pulled up to show love to my cousin who was in the prom. That’s me on the left, a shorty we met right before the pic, and my born crimey.

Let me give y’all the background. We were fresh out of high school. That hat, linen button-up, and jeans? Iceberg history. He was buying so much of that brand from Neiman Marcus, they offered him a job. My Moschino T-shirt was also from Neiman’s—it had four pills on it that said Money, Love, Drugs, Health. The jeans were Armani Exchange.

This was that “Streets Is Watching” movie era—Hov was rocking Iceberg heavy, to the point he nicknamed himself Iceberg Slim.

Being around older guys from the neighborhood, being afforded access to places most teens my age couldn’t go—it made me understand things on a whole different level. We learned early that being less accessible and thinking outside the box created separation.

Like us both wearing New Balance—I had on 576s, he had on 996s. Keep in mind, at that time Jordan and Nike was everything to our peers. And yeah, we had all that too, but our Jordan run slowed down after the 11s (until the 1999 retro era).

Shorty ended up in the picture just off a casual convo. I told her, “Yo, take this pic with us,” and she was with it.

This is a moment I’m glad I captured and kept. Too many pictures got lost over time.

Thinking outside the box is how you end up seeing “Views From Outside” on YouTube, as well as No Idea Is Original on IG. My goal isn’t just to show—it’s to paint a picture of a time and the things that really went on, the kind of details you won’t find documented.
